Teaching Assistant

Under the supervision of a certified teacher, provide direct instructional services to students utilizing lesson plans, tests and teaching aids developed by a certified teacher. Reinforce subject matter previously taught by a teacher by guiding students through a prescribed and frequently repetitive learning exercise. Administer, proctor and correct tests. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview

Salary Range:
From $37265 to $47968 Annually
Minimum Qualification
One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer. Provisional
Qualifications:
Possession of a current certificate issued by the NYS Education Department in one of the following:
Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate; OR Pre-Professional Teaching Assistant Certificate; OR Continuing Certificate as a Teaching Assistant; OR Provisional, Initial, Permanent, or Professional Teacher Certificate. Requirements for Continued Employment:
Employees must maintain New York State certification as listed above in order to continue employment with New York State. This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
